The fact that you may not be able to return the cog may not work very well for you. Compatibility enables the various parts of the bike to work in sync despite the fact that they come from different manufacturers. All our options are very much capable of working on any drivetrain as long as it lies within the SRAM and Shimano specifications.

It is wise that one takes into consideration the compatibility since the chances are that you may need to replace some parts just to get the whole unit to work together. This may prove to be more expensive than necessary. Incompatibility may also be from damage that has been experienced by the rest of the parts. It is always wise to buy parts that are similar, but this should not limit you from taking a different route by working with different parts that agree.

Buying from a store owner that understands these parts will save you the pain of using parts that do not agree. The durability of the cassette is all about the material used to build it. Most sets are made of reinforced steel that is also light. The chainrings are, however, made of aluminum for the purpose of decreasing the overall weight of the bike. Steel is both sturdy and corrosive free allowing you to wash the bike without exposing the whole unit to rust.

This does not mean that lubrication is unnecessary. The durability of the cassette also comes with the type of build. The cogs are usually joined and will easily get damaged by impact or the wrong kind of use. The best will last both in providing great performance and maintaining integration.

The speed that the cassette will allow is also one of the main considerations when it comes to making purchases. Most of the current options are 11 with some rare speed options. The number of cogs on a cassette will determine the speed of the bike. This will, of course, work hand in hand with the chainrings. Some chainrings will have a single cog while others will have two or three. The one with three allows for ease of riding especially in extreme hill climbing. The bigger chainring, when combined with the smaller cogs on the rear cassette, allows faster speeds downhill.

It is wise that you check the number of cogs you are getting and how far they are from each other. Cogs that are far apart will most likely present issues when it comes to shifting. The weight of the cassette will also affect the speed of the bike especially if it is a road bike.

Road bikes thrive on speed and so the lighter the cassette, the better it is for them. There should however not be a compromise when it comes to the durability of the cassette. Cassettes that are easy to install are best especially if you are a novice rider. You also have the option of visiting a store for a complete installation.

This will cost you some extra money. Some hubs will need to be removed for installations to be made while others will allow you to install the whole unit using a spline.

This may not be a major determinant but will be an issue for those that play a number of cassettes for racing purposes.

The easier it is to install one, the easier it is to maintain it. Cassettes will get tighter with time and so one that allows easy removal with your set of tools is advised upon. The right tools for the job should be used so as to make sure that you do not damage the parts of the unit during installation. Taking time to work with cassettes that are easy to install and will save you a lot of time.

Coasting and freewheeling is all about gliding Desequilíbrio - Various - Made In Brazil (Cassette) momentum. Cassettes that allow you to do this without causing any strain on the bikes are best. Some will even allow backpedaling while others will not. Most of the cassettes in the market will be freewheeling which allows for the option of a coating. Freewheeling is ideal especially when you want your feet to rest after a great deal of cycling. It is impossible for you to cycle all through without taking a rest.

It is impossible to ride for years and not spend a lot of time working with rear bike cassettes be it installation or repair. Nothing is as tiring as having to work with slipping cassettes or even worse, damaged chains. Most of these issues will point to a faulty cassette or simply the incompetence of using one. A novice rider needs to take time and learn how to sift and manage the gears so as to avoid damaging the drive train system.

I have made very many wise choices as well as wrong ones over my riding career, and one thing that has stood out is that riding is all about your ability to get the gears right. A pro will know how to maintain the 80 to rpm without a struggle no matter the kind of bike you use. There are of course extremes when it comes to steep hills whether you are going downhill or uphill.

My friends and I thought it wise to put together a list of cassettes that will not only improve riding but make it easier for the rider. The choice of cassettes we made ensure smooth transitions when shifting and a quiet ride. The idea was also to ensure that you know what is best for your bike. Buying a cassette is quite an investment depending on what you are going for, and so it is wise that you Desequilíbrio - Various - Made In Brazil (Cassette) a wise decision right from the start.

This is for all novice and professional riders that feel the need to improve their user experience. Cassettes can be annoying especially when the chain starts to not only slip but also malfunction. Some people get so frustrated that they change the whole unit right from the rear wheel to the wheel ring.

Your troubles will possibly lie with the cassette. The right cassette will eliminate most of the other issues including slipping of gears, a malfunctioning derailleur, cross chaining, damaged chains, and slow shifts. Picking the right one for the purpose of replacement requires the right information. The fact that there are thousands of options in the market does not exactly make it easy. You will also not get a chance to test the unit before making a purchase at the store. Learning how to install the unit is an added advantage as a beginner.

You will need to have full intimate knowledge about the type of cassette you want. This includes knowing the kind of performance you want to derive from your bike in the end. Novice rider may not know what to go for, but will never go wrong with these five options and a little gear shifting education.

The right choice comes with the right information. Taking the time to consider all the factors that need to be considered before buying a cassette will give you as buyer confidence about what to get. We recommend any of the above cassettes because they have been tried and tested and given the right results.

These will work across some options without hitting an unnecessary compromise. Some people will compromise quite for smooth transitions while others will compromise the number of gear options for the price. The right compromise is also about value for money. The best will not only give you service but last for a long time while doing so. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. It shows the album artwork with release date at the centre, over a black background filled with text in white.

Image needed. UK various artists promo cassette The reissue of the album on Parlophone was promoted with the inclusion of "Interesting Drug" on a various artists cassette titled "Drive! The front of the insert shows the front of a car over a blue background and mentions the names of the most interesting artists on the tape, including Morrissey's.

The cassette is made of clear plastic with white text printed directly onto it. It features the Q logo in the top left corner. The cassette is of the That's Desequilíbrio - Various - Made In Brazil (Cassette), black with blue text and a clear triangular window exposing one reel. The insert is a generic Abbey Road one.

Its front shows the album title and track listings for a-side and b-side over the pale grey and yellow Abbey Road logo. The spine content is the same as that of the sticker labels. The back of the insert shows an Abbey Road logo and the company's contact information.

They come in a white paper record bag with rounded corners, the type often used as inner sleeves. Release information such as Morrissey's name, "Bona Drag" and the catalogue number is usually handwritten on this record bag.

This 2-sided acetate comes in a generic Abbey Road card sleeve showing the black and yellow Abbey Road logo spread over the 2 sides. The sleeve is die-cut to display the labels which are white with the Abbey Road logo at the top, Abbey Road contact information around the bottom edge and typewritten track listing in the bottom half.

A few alterations were made to the back inlay: the Parlophone logo was removed, the barcode was simplified and adapted to Argentina instead of the UK, the EMI credits in the bottom left corner were dropped while a block of EMI-Odeon credits and a legal warning were Desequilíbrio - Various - Made In Brazil (Cassette) to the bottom right corner. The spines were not altered. Information on the insert and the disc is needed.

It shows the usual cassette artwork on the front view left. The spine and back are golden brown with black text just like in the UK, but a few unusual changes were made there. The most striking alteration is the move of the barcode to the bottom of the spine, with a bit of it overlapping on the back panel. The size of Morrissey's name and of the album title on the spine was slightly shrunk in order to make space for this barcode, and the His Master's Voice logo at the top was replaced with the Australian catalogue number.

Unlike most other cassette editions of "Bona Drag", the back section of this one is full and filled at maximum capacity with content: catalogue number in the top right corner, release identification, full track listing including songwriting and publishing credits, album credits including label logos and credits, etc. The insert's three extra panels are exactly the same as their UK counterparts: a first one golden brown with credits at the bottom only and the two others featuring a sideways image of Morrissey also seen on the cd and vinyl back artwork.

The reverse side of the insert is also identical to the UK's, golden brown with full album lyrics. The cassette is made of clear plastic with pale grey text printed directly onto it. Australia promo 12" [EMI Australia RP] Because of its unique track listing and 'artwork', Desequilíbrio - Various - Made In Brazil (Cassette), this item has made the list of Morrissey's most appealing collectibles. The justification behind of its existence is a bit of a mystery given the fact that the album only came out on cassette in Australia compact discs and perhaps LPs may have been imported.

It is also surprising that EMI Australasia decided to promote the album with the help of an EP featuring four songs that did not make the track listing. The back is in the same colours reminiscent of the album "The Queen Is Dead". It features mainly the track listing including songwriting credits in the left half, above RPM, EMI Australasia credits and promo warning.

An EMI logo appears in the bottom left corner, a His Master's Voice logo with the slogan "The Symbol Of Supremacy" at the bottom centre, and the catalogue number in the top right corner. The record comes in a clear anti-static inner sleeve. The labels are white with black text. Each side's track listing including songwriting and publishing credits appears at the top, EMI credit on the left, RPM and catalogue number on the right; Morrissey's name and promo warning at the bottom.

The only difference is found on the disc where "Made In Austria" was added at the very bottom of the white section, below the track listing, copyright information and label code. An Austrian manufacturing credit also appears around the disc's inner ring.

The barcode and the catalogue numbers in the top left corner were removed, just like the two printing and manufacturing lines in the bottom left corner. The spines look like the original UK ones but the catalogue number on them is the Brazilian one. This catalogue number also replaces the UK one in the top right corner on the back of the insert. More interestingly, this insert is the only one to feature content on one of the two pages that are all red for all other cd editions.

The right side of those two red surfaces was filled in Brazil with the complete track listing, including mandatory in Brazil publishing numbers and songwriting credits, as well as production credits and copyright information. The back was adapted for this edition. The barcode and catalogue numbers in the top right corner were replaced with a black EMI logo and the Brazilian catalogue number.

The inner sleeve looks the same as the one inside the original UK LP, but it is made of glossy paper and is not indented. The catalogue number was changed for the Brazilian one in the top right corner on the side where the lyrics to side one are found. The record is actually slipped inside a clear anti-static inner sleeve which is in turn slipped inside this picture inner sleeve. The labels are black with pale grey text in the bottom half and nothing in the top half.

They are in fact very similar to the original UK labels, without the His Master's Voice logo in the top half, with a few corrections made to the catalogue number and credits, with publishing numbers added after each song title, and with legal text in Portuguese around the outer edge. The catalogue number is on the left and EMI-Odeon credit on the right. This promo 12" was distributed inside a red die-cut thin card sleeve with a white EMI logo in the bottom right corner and a white and green square sticker in the top left corner listing the contents.

Copies in a blue variation of this sleeve without the contents sticker have also been spotted. It features the expected compact disc variation of the artwork on the front view left. The text on the back is also red with Sire and Reprise logos as well as "AAD" beneath the barcode in the top left corner, but the credits beneath the track listing in the bottom left corner are printed in black instead of red and credit Sire and WEA Canada.

The insert is very glossy, it unfolds twice like its UK and American counterparts, but the catalogue number in the top right corner on its back is the Canadian one and there are Sire and Reprise logos on the right side immediately above the paragraph of credits. The disc is uncoloured with black text. Morrissey's name and "Bona Drag" appear at the top in the same font as on the front. The track listing is given on the right, Sire and WEA Canada credits on the left, Sire and Reprise logos at the bottom alongside a compact disc logo and the catalogue number.

The front artwork is the usual cassette variation view left. The spine and back flap are the same as in the USA but the catalogue number on the spine was changed for the Canadian one and the Sire address on the back was replaced with two lines of Sire Canada credit. The insert's first panel is basically the same as in the USA except for three items which were simply erased: the catalogue number beneath the Sire and Reprise logos, the first line of the bottom paragraph mentioning Reprise Records, and the words "Made in U.

The other two panels show the back artwork image of Morrissey, just like everywhere else, and the reverse of the insert features the full album lyrics in black over white, just like in the USA.

The cassette itself is made of black plastic with pale grey text printed directly onto it. The text and its layout is more or less the same as in the USA, but the font and the relative size of every item is not quite the same.

Canada cassette [Columbia House W4 ; record club edition] This edition differs from the standard retail one described above by a few details. The front artwork was not changed. The catalogue number on the spine was changed for the Columbia House one and the order number was added above the logos on the left.

The credits on the back flap were adapted for Columbia House. The cassette is made of clear plastic instead of black, but still has grey text printed directly onto it. The layout of the text there is the same as on the retail edition, but the font was changed, the credits were adapted for Columbia House and the record club's catalogue number was added in the bottom right corner.

Croatia cassette [EMI Jugoton MCS ] When Croatia became a state after the end of Yoguslavia in the s, the Yugoslavian cassettes originally pressed by Jugoton were made Croatian by having Croatia Records stickers applied over every occurrence of the Jugoton logo and mention. This means that this Croatian cassette is exactly like the Yugoslavian one described at the bottom of this list, but a silver and black Croatia Records sticker was applied over the Jugoton logo on the spine of the insert, and black and white stickers were applied at three places on each side of the cassette: over the logo, over the name 'Jugoton', and over 'Made in Yugoslavia'.

Also, the cassette cases for this edition have the Croatia Records logo etched into the platic. Actually, nowhere on it is it stated that it was made in the EEC or that Fame is involved.

However the catalogue number is a Fame one and that label is usually credited as an EEC one on other Morrissey releases and from either the Netherlands or Germany for other artists. The front and disc are perfectly identical to their UK counterparts. The spine, back and insert look the same, but on close inspection we find that the UK catalogue number was changed for the Fame catalogue number on the spine, above the barcode on the back and in the top right corner on the back of the insert.

The front artwork is the usual LP one view left. The back of the sleeve was modelled closely on the back of the UK LP, but a few changes were made here and there. The catalogue numbers around the barcode were replaced with the one for this LP plus those of its cd and cassette counterparts. An EMI logo was added beneath the track listing for side 2 and the EMI credit in the bottom left corner was moved up a bit where it is more visible.

The inner sleeve is made of paper just like in the UK, but it is not indented for easier access to the record inside and the catalogue number in the top right corner was changed for the EEC LP one. The labels feature a red retro "His Master's Voice" logo at the top and grey text in the bottom half, just like the UK labels, but the font and layout of the text were significantly changed and items such as BIEM and GEMA boxes and a label code were added.

However, just like the cd, nowhere is it mentioned on this cassette that it was made in or for the European market, so it could also be easily mistaken for a UK release see EEC cd paragraph above for further information on the subject.

The front shows the expected cassette variation of the artwork view left. The spine differs from the spine of the UK insert by the catalogue number, but also by the addition of the Fame logo above it. The back flap is just like in the UK minus the two catalogue numbers which were simply erased. The three extra panels and the reverse of the insert were untouched. The cassette is also made of clear plastic with white text.

This text is basically the same as what is seen on the UK cassette except on the right side where the EMI logo was replaced with the Fame one and its position swapped with that of the side number. The front and spine are expected to be identical to their UK counterpart confirmation needed; the spine may differ slightly. The back flap is the same except for the two lines of printing and manufacturing credit which were erased. Information about the rest of the insert is needed. The cassette is also made of clear plastic with pale grey text but it features the track listing at the top on each side, a HMV catalogue number and name in the top left corner and "Made In EEC" on the right side.

France advert 28cm x 35cm [11" x 14"] View here. Size may also be 8. The back of the sleeve was only altered slightly in the bottom right corner around the His Master's Voice logo where a I. Leonardos printing credit and a EMI Greece credit were added. The inner sleeve is made of glossy card and is visually identical in appearance to its UK counterpart except for the lack of indentation and the different catalogue number on the side where the lyrics to side one are found.

The block of catalogue numbers on the right was changed for another one including Greek catalogue and publishing numbers, and the manufacturing credit following the legal notice around the edge was removed. The spine is the same as in the UK but white instead of golden brown and the catalogue number at the bottom is the Greek one.

The back flap appears to have been left unchanged, both in colour and content. The back of the case is made of black instead of clear plastic so the cassette is not visible when the case is closed.

When sealed, there is an official Greek copyright paper seal around the cassette. Information about the cassette itself is needed. Greece LP promo [EMI ] Promo copies of the LP are stock ones with a Greek price tag-shaped promo sticker on the front of the sleeve, sometimes paired with a press release.
